Yoo Masqqala is a program of cultural events celebrated in different areas in different times. But September is the month masqqala celebrated in many parts of Gamo. It is led by local elders in different parts according to context: – Hudugga, Halaqqa, Maagga, Biitantte, Baabo(Sagga) and Weyeche. The local elders taste prepared cultural food and publicize the beginning of festival. They also congratulate and bless the participants. Then, people start celebration moving through different compounds. The festival is not only for human being, but it is also the day for cattle. Cattle must be free and taken to already reserved grazing land/kallo/.
